Contrinex is a Swiss based sensor manufacturer. Started in 1972, and still privately held, we supply proximity, as well as photoelectric sensors to the world. Our first 25 years we were the manufacturing arm for some of the biggest sensor companies such as Sick, Balluff, Pepper and Fuchs, IFM/Effector, Siemens, Diehl, Sensopart, among others. We started going direct under our own name seven years ago and opened the US operations in August of 1999.

Contrinex is know as the triple sensing distance company. A normal 12 mm sensor has a sensing distance of 2 mm we offer 6 mm. An 8 mm usually offers 1 mm sensing we offer 3 mm. We also have fully self contained small barrel sensors with extended ranges as well. Industry standard for a 3 mm is 0.6 mm, we offer 1 mm, 4 mm usually offer 0.8 sensing distance we offer 1.5 mm almost double that of a standard sensor.

We also offer an IP-68 sensor that not only has a stainless steel face (and body), "sees" 3 times the distance of a normal sensor, but also "sees" all metals at the same distance! IT comes in 12 mm, 18 mm, and 30 mm housings with the 8 mm housing coming out in early 2005!

Beside the proximity sensors we have a line of very impressive photoelectric sensors as well. Starting with our 4 mm that has a sensing distance of 2 inches! We offer 12 and 18 mm barrel sensors in photoelectric styles including diffuse, background suppression, retro-reflective and thru-beam.

We also manufacture of own cables so you won't pay an arm and a leg for wire in a PVC or PUR jacket. Our standard sizes are 2, 5 and 10 meters in both 8 mm and 12 mm connectors, as well as three wire and four wire, for your quick disconnect needs.
